Our history
VMI is undoubtedly the company can boast, in the world of mixing and blending, about the longest and the richest history. The VMI mixers and blenders are the fruit of decades of inventions and developments many of which remain forever a significant progress made by designers who have marked their eras. VMI men and women of today make every effort to ensure that these wonderful stories are being perpetuated and that tomorrow we shall still be able to escort artisans and industrialists in their quest for mixtures of incomparable quality.

- Creation of the MAHOT brand, by Mr. Mahot in Ham, la Somme
- 1913
- Creation of the SUDRY Establishments in Nantes, bought back by HERSAN, custodian of the PHEBUS brand
- 1920
- Creation of the REBUFFÉ Establishments, custodian of the REX brand, which will be acquired afterwards by the BIOLAC enterprise in the Sarthe.
- 1945
- Creation in Montaigu (Vendée) of HERVOUET-PAUVERT establishments, general mechanics enterprise, subcontractor of local contracting parties.

- Creation of the RAYNERI Enterprise by Mr. and Mrs. Rayneri
- 1960
- The HERVOUET-PAUVERT Establishments are renamed VENDEE MECANIQUE
- 1975
- Creation of the EURO MACHINES enterprise at Décines (Rhône), which is a fusion of BONNET-CALAD and SEVIN
- 1978
- VENDEE MECANIQUE directs its know-how to the manufacture of baking mixers. At this time it acquires the brands PHEBUS and MAHOT
- 1985
- RAYNERI buys back EURO MACHINES
- 1985
- The enterprise takes the name of VMI (Vendée Mécanique Industrie), gets listed in Stock Exchange
- 1986
- VMI acquires the BIOLAC enterprise
- 1989
- VMI buys back the RAYNERI enterprise, specialist of industrial mixtures
- 1992
- Fusion between VMI and RAYNERI. All the activity of the entreprise is now centralized in the sole site of Montaigu
- 1994
- The SUEZ Group becomes the sole shareholder of VMI
- 1995
- Creation of a subsidiary in Italy ; VBI
- 1996
- VMI buys back EURO MELANGE
- 1998
- The BRETECHE INDUSTRIE group becomes owner of VMI
- 2007
- Settlement of VMI in the U.S.A. through the creation of its subsidiary VMI NORTH-AMERICA INC.
